“Shelly and Sherman” (13)

The first month was okay, because Sherman and I stuck together. Mrs. Prance could get agitated real fast. You didn’t have to do anything, and she had you upstairs in your room.

Sherman said,”You think it’s bad now,you should of been staying here as long as I have. It’s like walking on egg shells.”

“Your to funny Sherman, where in the world did you hear that?”

“I read that in one of Mrs. Prance”s magazines. I don’t remember which one it was.”

“Oh!” ‘Maybe she has a magazine on how to be happy?” Shelly said, laughing

“I don’t think so,but every time her husband calls, she goes off. Nobody better get in her way either.”

“Why doesn’t stop calling?”

“She’ll hang up on him,and he’’ll call again. I don’t know what he saids to her,but what ever it is,she steams like a kettle.”

“Why don’t we tip-toe down stairs,and see what’s she’s doing?” said Shelly

“You’re trying to get me in trouble.”

“We’ll just say,we want a drink of water.”

“Alright!” “Just to keep you happy.”

When we both snick-ed downstairs,Mrs.Prance had a small bottle in a bag,and was drinking from it,out in the kitchen.

“Shh” “Shelly, lets get back upstairs,I don’t want her to start hollering at us.”

We both tip-toed back upstairs, and was relieved, when we got to the top.

“What ever she is drinking, she’s hiding it. This is probably what is making her crazy. Mom and Dad never did that” said Shelly

Their is a lot of things, that she does, that Mom and Dad never did.”Said Sherman

“I believe you Sherman!” “We have only about a month left,in this house.”

“I hope the other place isn’t the same?”said Sherman

“Mrs. Flunet,is nice, but some times she gets a little mean. But I go upstairs with Mindy.”

“We better get to bed Sherman,we have to go to school tomorrow.”

“We do, don’t we? I’m glad,at least we don’t have to stay in our rooms.”

The next morning,we got up by ourselves, and walked to school. We didn’t eat breakfast,we’ll have to wait for lunch.

Lunch time came, and we both ate a lot. We didn’t want to go back to the classroom. But we had to,shucks!

The next month wasn’t as bad as the first month. Mrs. Prance didn’t get as many phone calls from her husband. We heard her tell him she wanted a divorce, she also said,”you can stay with that hussy all you want. Stop calling me!!”

On the last week of the two months. Nancy called and reminded Mrs. Prance about the move.

This is the first time, she heard from Nancy, since the court hearing. I don’t know how she made her report, without coming to the house,or calling. I guess Nancy just forgot, what to do.

Tomorrow is Saturday,so tonight,Sherman and I are going to packed our things for the move.
